Abhikalp | Abhikalpan | Design

Many people get confused about what exactly is design (also called abhikalp in Hindi). Design is a very generic term and is evident in almost all domains. Some are too technical and some are very simple. Categories include Graphic design, Print design, Industrial design, Software design, Product design, Architectural design, Web design, Interaction design, User Interface design, Service design, Program design, Game design and lots more.
I am specialized in Industrial, Product, UI, Graphic design. It is a general cognition that if a person(s) is specialized in one domain of design, he (she) can have some degree of knowledge to do design related to other domain (as the domains mentioned above). This is very subjective and depends from person to person.

I got a chance to see LASALLE, NUS, NTU @ SG, looks like a modern institute compared to NID or any other in India.

Design education happens not by going to schools or colleges but by observing things. Keen interest in a subject helps you move. There are people who learn design by themselves, many others who receive a formal degree in a reputed university, many gain both. If you are interested and lucky, then you could join a university to gain a formal degree. There are many universities which offer courses in a specific domain of interest.
